EP18 - Music In Memory: Tribute to Jamie Tiller

One of the hallmarks of timeless art is its capacity to reveal aspects of yourself that was till that point, hidden from you. Music From Memory, an independent Amsterdam based record label formed in 2013, has carved out musical lanes that are often nothing short of revelatory. In the past decade they’ve unearthed and released a treasure trove of unique and innovative sounds, both archival and contemporary, spanning eras, genres, and continents, establishing itself as a pre-eminent label for those of us looking for something less conventional. While their catalog is expansive and rapidly growing, the quality control, from curation to design, is ever on point. Each release confidently reflects the identity of the label, and presumably, of the founders themselves. Tragically, one the label’s co-founders, Jamie Tiller, recently passed away at the age of 44.

Episode 18 is a tribute to Jamie Tiller — a thank you for the role he has played in soundtracking our joy, facilitating our self-exploration, and providing context for deepening our friendship as Tribe Jazz. While his time with us in physical form was cut short, his light shines through the music he shared with the world, and even brighter in how that music resonates in our hearts, minds, bodies, and spirit. with infinite Love, Gratitude, and Respect to Jamie Tiller and the Music From Memory family.
